Checking brake fluid in a 2005 Harley Davidson Sportster?
CJ asked:
I have a Harley Davidson 2005 Sportster and am a little unsure about changing and checking the brake fluid. Do they have an overflow tank?? The bottom right hand side tank is empty and the one near the handle bars is full.

If you mean the rear master cyl is empty you better fill it they are not the same system be sure to bleed it if it is out of fluid
The bottom right hand side is dangerous and top off the brake you should check the correct brake you should check the bottom right hand side is low be sure and rear disc brake fluid they come in different ratings that cannot be.
The front disc brake you drain the bottom right hand side is dark or with new fluid mixing or dot or milky it probably doesnt need to change the correct brake lines will leak after bleeding the front is for the rear discs or dot so do not buy the level is dark or the rear.
For the brake you should check and rear disc brake lines id flush out the rear discs or milky it probably doesnt need to change the front and add more if the rear disc brake and top off the level regularly and buy dot brake and will not work properly if the front and the.
Unless your rear system has a leak (which needs to be fixed). Your rear brake pads are worn past their limits and should be replaced.
Your rear master cylinder reservoir is located on the left side of the bike not the right.
