What is the approximate cost of a N E W Harley Davidson in the UK?
Transformed_By_HIM asked:
Can anyone give me an approximate cost of a NEW Harley Davidson in the UK. I appreciate that there are many varying models, so as much information on any models would be greatly appreciated.
I am a Brit living in the USA and about to export some Harleys from my home here in Detroit, USA to the UK, and I wanted to make sure it is viable before I do so. With the Pound being so strong against the Dollar at the moment, I believe it will be very worthwhile.
I am aware of all import duty etc.

Do a search for Black Bear, Harley Davidson, Newmarket.
Theyve got as decent selection and price list for you to compare against.. new and old models
Starting at £5000 to £12000
You have obviously done some rescearch but there is a shortage of earlier Harley models on the UK market. Pre and post war through to the 70′s/80′s models
If you have a source and that type of vehicles available and sustainable then I believe that you have an oportunity to do well
Either way good luck
Prices vary from around £5,000 for a basic Sportster, up to around £20,000 for the CVO Dynas and Glides.
Although the pound / dollar ratio makes importing bikes from the U.S. look attractive, in reality it isn’t.
By the time you add shipping charges, import duty, VAT, brokerage charges, SVA testing and registration, you will be out of pocket.
For example, an FXCW Rocker retails for £12,755 over here. It retails for $17,300 in America (which is around £8,500).
Then you must add shipping charges (£750), import duty, VAT and brokerage fees at about 30% (£2,500), plus SVA & registration fees (£750 per bike).
That means you’ll need to sell it for £1,500 more than we can buy it for, from an official British Harley dealer. With a warranty. And full after-sales backup.
Like I said, you WILL be out of pocket…
