Such a cool looking bike but purely out of riding position i couldnt deal with this thing. Took it out for a 20 mile spin a year ago and i can still vividly remember being very uncomfortable on this thing. fine if you dont live in the city or just drive around to pose.. but for serious long distance riding..forget it. wished they would bring one out that has mid controls and just slightly higher
She’s no VMAX
Put 1200 miles on a vrod in just 4 days. I thought it wasn’t too bad on long trips… torque is outstanding, so is the sound and handling. Easy bike to handle, and rocket fast for a cruiser.
The V-Rod is the 2nd fastest power cruiser. You win. V-Max (2009) is the fastest. Sorry.
V-Rod, V-Max (85-08), Valkyrie. Magna, Warrior, Vulcan 2000, M 109, Rocket III all solid bikes and will all be nipping on your heels (or passing you.)
V-max compete with Busa and ZX-14? WTF? It tops out at 140mph! It doesn’t like the corners. It weighs more. It costs more. It’s a different class of bike. (Power Cruiser vs Hyper Bike) What competition?
Both the generation 1 and 2 Vmaxs, the Rocket 3, and the B-King are all faster than the V-rod. BTW, Yamaha didn’t make a Vmax in ’08. Lastly, I never lost to V-rod on my stock Vmax, and the Vmax corners awsome and as for your comment above. I can’t remember what I wrote a year ago, so I don’t have a clue what you’re tring to tell me.

Dude, I’m NO Harley fan. I’m saying what I’ve seen from numerous magazines and dyno numbers. I don’t ride a power cruiser. So it’s the 09 V-Max, whatever. Notice how I telling the Harley lover these bikes will nip/pass him? So the V-Rod is the 6th fastest power cruiser. That POS could be the 20th for all I care.

The rocket 3 is faster than the v rod! I know I own one! Not buy much but it is! as for the new v-max my buddy just took delivery of his 3weeks ago! its not run in yet so he is being ginger with the right wrist, but we think its going to be close! Used to have 85max loved it! That would still also give a v-rod a run for its money!…

I’ve found that on all the bikes that I’ve ridden, feet forward is much more comfortable. The cornering they talk about is a result of the big back tires which is a trade off for looks.
i have a night rod and it,s a great machine,i put a vance & hinzes exhaust and power comander it added 25bhp and is rapid and smooth
at 3:52 the waker turns around and checks the v-rod out, thats cool, now thats something speical, altho this v-rod needs louder exhausts
